Quarterly Earnings Report - October 2023

Here we go, just when you thought the GAME SHOW REVIEWS ARE OVER a strike ends up bringing more shows in, to review, Normally, if I have a Quarterly Earnings, there is maybe 2 or3 shows to review, but we’re almost at DOUBLE DIGITS here.

Anyway, this concludes the reviews for game shows this quarter, if I forgot a show - it was either not memorable enough for review, or just simply - i never got around to it.

Loteria Loca - Based on the 400 year old mexican bingo game, contestants hope luck is on their side as they pick up 3s and 4s in a row to try and win $1,000,000. It has a very snazzy set and everything!

Raid The Cage - A format from Israel has been updated with AMERICAN SENSIBILITIES, and in this case, has created a more fast and frantic game show where contestants run around a prize-filled room to try and get more of a cash total than their opponents to try and do it again.

Celebrity Squares - “When are they going to bring back Hollywood Squares” I hear you say on social media, ignoring Hip Hop Squares, Nashville Squares and the legally-different “Funny You Should Ask”, well, here it is again, with the Hip Hop Squares set, featuring Black Entertainment Television All Stars, somewhat.

Big Brother UK - UK’s biggest reality show has returned. 16 people live in a house to try and win a hundred grand. But with twists and turns like all reality television. Unlike BBUS where it’s challenges to determine power. The nominations are up to them, but who goes? YOU DECIDE!

House of Villains - An almost parody of Reality Television, 10 of the “Worst” contestants in reality television (And Johnny Bananas) compete against each other to see who is the Biggest Baddie and win $200,000. To do this they literally need to Lie, Cheat and Steal their way to the top, With challenges to determine safety and power, then of the 3 on the block, 1 gets safety, leaving 2 to be voted on by the house. UNTIL ONE IS LEFT, I GUESS?

“AND BEYOND” - I’m not a mind reader. Jeopardy and Deal are headed to the UK. But in America, we got DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND to survive on, as well as a brand new quiz show THE FLOOR but those are not slated until 2024. Oh well.
